Welcome to Shropshire Moths.

My name is Kain, I have been 'into' moths and moth recording for around 5 years now. I'm based in a little town in Shropshire called Bridgnorth.

4 years ago I decided to make a trap out of an old bread bin, and a couple of Aldi glass chopping boards! massive fun and success was had!

So moving on from that, I bought my first trap, a 125w Mercury Vapour trap..boy what a difference! Not only did it light up the garden like Birmingham airport, the moth catch was unreal!

This winter I bought myself a new trap, a 40w actinic, to add to my MW trap, which is much more mobile too!

So inspired by other 'mothers' on the facebook group Moths UK Flying tonight (Moths UK Flying Tonight) I have decided to start my own blog to document my moth trapping throughout the year!

So all I have left to say is welcome to my blog, and hope your traps are full of moths!
